I was playing with fork swaps today. I have a never-used kids' bike crank that I've had in a drawer in my toolbox for years. This thing is gonna sit so low, it's finally coming out, and the price tag is going to get peeled off. I also figured out that the switchblade will accept a 26" rear wheel, so I'm going to re-lace the three-speed hub into something semi-wide, and am considering a chunky rear tire.
We'll see how it goes. I may have to add one of those headtube spacers that the fixie guys use in order to get some ground clearance.
A couple of more changes to the plan. Not going to use the wood wheel up front as I'd intended, but an old Araya 27" instead. The Bontrager Hard Case roadie tire mounted on it has the same tread pattern and white lettering on the sidewall as the 26x2.2 Hank that I bought for the rear yesterday, along with an S-A 3speed wheel

Just did an initial mockup. The fork will come up about an inch, once I change that old fork over to 1-1/8" threadless, and add a headset. Now you see why I needed the kid's bike cranks. They just BARELY clear at the bottom of their stroke. I am contemplating cutting an offset section of the tube with the crank hanger on it, flipping it over to move the bottom bracket up/forward, and welding everything back together. However, I kinda like the fact that this beast is in Modified, and doesn't have to be in Anything Goes, so she'll probably remain intact.

Spoke: here's a shot of the new bars and the spacer that I used to replace the stem I'd originally installed below the lower race. The 1"bars required a different stem up top, that was quite a bit thicker than the first one.
blown240: Kingsnova: I have a couple of those hubs.... Ill sell you a hub or parts or whatever. Send me a PM

kingsnova: Hello all, I just bought a used 26" Mongoose Beast fat tire at a garage sale $140.00. Good deal till the rear bearings were loose and broke the axle. Anyone know how I can get parts to fix it?
